SUMMARY:Christmas Polka at Trinity
DESCRIPTION:We're excited to welcome back the Jim Pekol band to perform on November 29th at 6:30pm as part of our Christmas Concert Series. The Jim Pekol Band was formed in 1979 when most of the members were teenagers and made up of accordion\, piano\, and drums. After a few years\, the piano was replaced by a banjo and this combination remains to this day with Jim on accordion\, Marilyn Pekol on banjo and piano\, and a variety of drummers - currently their son Bob. The Pekol Band played for weddings\, public dances and polkafests and now is very popular for Oktoberfests and church services. From 1986-1996 members of the band\, either individually or collectively were called upon to play with Frank Yankovic when he was in the Wisconsin/Minnesota/Upper Michigan area. Many of the lyrics they use for the polka service were written by Gladys Woller from Tomahawk and the combination of songs they use are unique for each church.
