SUMMARY:Cowboy Mounted Shooting Event
DESCRIPTION:Mounted Justice is hosting a Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association event on Merrill Festival Grounds at noon Saturday\, June 24\, and at 10 a.m. Sunday\, June 25\, 2023.\n\nCowboy mounted shooting is a competitive equestrian sport that involves riding a horse to negotiate a shooting pattern. It's the fastest growing equine sport in the United States\, and is fun for all ages.\n\nContestants use two .45 caliber single action revolvers loaded with five rounds of blank ammunition. A competitor crosses the timing line\, engages five targets\, returns the empty revolver to the holster then draws the second revolver and engages the final five targets. Scoring is based on elapsed time plus a five-second penalty for each missed target.\n\nThis sport is open to men and women of all ages and horses of all breeds. It also includes a junior and wrangler division for kids. New participants compete against riders in their same level.\n\nSpectators can watch the event for free. Those who wish to participate in the event\, volunteer\, or be a sponsor\, should contact Karri Moodie at (715) 574-8329 or EMR.Karri@yahoo.com.\n\nMounted Justice is the Wisconsin CMSA (Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association) Club.
