DESCRIPTION:A chance for families to enjoy being outside together and try different winter activities.  Activities Include:  Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing (last leasson/departure at 3pm)\,  Sledding\, Campfire - Sing-a-long with Mr. Van Straten at 2pm\, Tour the Museum (dicussions all afternoon)\, Tour the Cordwood Education Center (tours and demonstrations all afternoon).  Snacks will be available.  This event is psonsored by Merrill Area Public Schools and the Friends of the Forest.  These is no charge for participation.   All activiites are weather dependent.  The MAPS School Forest is located on Hwy 107 (10miles north of Merrill) across from New Wood County Park.  Cell phones rarely work at the forest.  the lodge phone number is 715-536-8248.  Parking at the forest is limited.  Additional parking is available at New Wood County Park.
