T.B.Scott Free Library invites adults and teens to Wisconsin's Stately Spirits: Stories, Legends & Tales from Haunted Places, on Monday October 10 at 6pm in the library community room. Robert Halbrook will present a collection of stories and legends taken from non-fiction accounts of ghostly investigations and haunted happenings right here in our state. Learn about some of Wisconsin's most renowned haunted places and experience strange phenomena these places seem to share with artifacts that have been retrieved from their sites.
A number of artifacts from Robert and Lynn's personal collection will be on display throughout the program. See and handle these strange artifacts, learn about spiritualist powers, and hear stories of maddeningly scary events. Audience volunteers will personally experience the odd phenomena that results from an association with these artifacts while the entire audience plays witness.
How did the term "wake" originate? What was a "Safety Coffin"? Can a wooden toy box hold the spirit of a young oby who died mysteriouly? These questions and oh so many more will be answered during the course of the event. As always, Robert includes many references to the books, papers, photographs, and online research he has used while investigating ghosts right here in Wisconsin.
