This is the story of Maud--a foot soldier. She wasn’t in the military. She was a foot soldier in the Women’s Social and Political Union fighting for women’s rights: the fight to vote, the fight for equality, the fight for dignity. This film is a historical drama taking place in London, 1912. From ineffectual peaceful protests to forced radicalism, violence, arrests, and hunger strikes, this is the story of ordinary laundry women who were willing to give up everything for an extraordinary cause.
