A chance for families to enjoy the great outdoors and try different winter activities. Free equipment rentals, no admission fee, and free food. Activities include: Explore our outdoor historic logging museum • Forest Ecology Presentation by Christian W. Cold, wildlife technician for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources *This presentation is with live animals!!! (1:00-2:00 inside the lodge) • Live historic logging demonstration with Steve Lee and his horses! (11:00-12:00 outside in the lower parking lot) • Cross Country Skiing (Last departure time at 2:00 p.m.) • Snowshoeing • Sledding • Human Foosball • Campfire – Roast a marshmallow or two!!! • Tour the Animal Museum, and our Wisconsin Logging History Museum • Tour the Cordwood Education Center • Bird Trail (2 guided tours @ 10:30 & 12:30) • Family Nature Scavenger Hunt – with prizes awarded • Face painting

Location
The Merrill School Forest is located on Hwy 107 (10 miles north of Merrill) across from Camp New Wood County Park. Cell phones rarely work at the forest. The lodge phone number is 715-536 -8248. Parking at the forest is limited. Additional parking is available across the road at Camp New Wood County Park.
