Online shopping presents an opportunity for consumers to purchase practically anything quickly and conveniently. The internet has many fake ads, fraudulent websites, and scammers trying to take your money and give you nothing in return. Consumers can have a safe online shopping experience, as long as they protect themselves. The presentation will cover online shopping scams, Wi-Fi, internet access, payment methods, and shipping considerations. Jeffrey Kersten will present ways to help the consumer stay safe while shopping online. Helpful resources from DATCP’s Bureau of Consumer Protection will also be available to take home. This workshop will be held in conjunction with the 60+ Dining Site. However, it is open to the public. Registration is not required. Please call the library @ 715-536-7191 for more information.
