Lincoln County Health Department Invites Community Members to Join the Conversation

Lincoln County Health Department Invites Community Members to Join the Conversation Strength in Community: Stories of Hope and Healing
The Lincoln County Health Department, in partnership with the Lincoln County Opioid Task Force, will be hosting three community conversations about substance use and the importance of community support.

These events are part of a larger effort to reduce stigma around substance use and promote harm reduction. Stigma, negative attitudes or beliefs about substance use, can make it harder for people to seek help.

“Our community assessment showed that stigma is a major reason people who use substances do not seek treatment in Lincoln County,” said Erin Ray, Opioid Grant Coordinator for the Lincoln County Health Department. “We can reduce that stigma by having open, respectful conversations that build understanding and support within our communities.”

Community members are encouraged to attend, share their perspectives, listen and learn. These conversations are an opportunity to connect with others and help build a healthier, more supportive community for individuals and families.

Three opportunities to attend:
● Wednesday, February 25, 2026 | 5:30–7:00 p.m. Virtual event: https://bit.ly/LincTownHall
● Tuesday, March 17, 2026 | 5:30–7:00 p.m. T.B. Scott Free Library, Community Room, Merrill
● Wednesday, April 8, 2026 | 6:00–7:30 p.m. Kinship House, Tomahawk

Refreshments and snacks will be provided at the Merrill and Tomahawk events.

LINCOLN COUNTY VISION STATEMENT: Lincoln County will preserve the unique characteristics and resources that make it an exceptional place to live, work, and play; we will work together, holding ourselves and each other accountable, to weave the fabric of community and provide opportunity to our citizens.
